Laura Earley

From Co. Roscommon, Laura is both an accomplished Artist and a dedicated Art Educator. Her academic journey includes attaining a Bachelor's Degree in Textile Design and a Master's in Art and Design Education from the National College of Art and Design (N.C.A.D). Currently, Laura imparts her artistic knowledge to secondary school students in Dublin 13. Her artistic endeavours encompass a wide spectrum of mediums, spanning textiles, photography, and sculpture. Notably, her works have been featured in prominent galleries like Mart Studios, the N.C.A.D Gallery, and Roscommon Arts Centre.

The year 2020 saw Laura secure funding from Roscommon County Council to conceive and craft a captivating photo book centred around Roscommon's Mosaic industry, aptly named 'Roscommon Mosaic Tradition, Geometric and Artistic Mosaics in the North-West'. Laura was then the recipient of the 'Creativity in Older Persons' fund granted by Creative Ireland in 2021 and Roscommon County Council. This accolade paved the way for a solo exhibition held at Roscommon Arts Centre in March 2022.

In 2023 Laura's artistic journey received another significant boost. She was awarded the Individual Artist bursary, generously awarded by Roscommon County Council in collaboration with Creative Ireland. Under this initiative, Laura engaged with local stone quarries to conceive and bring to life exquisite terrazzo sculptures.
